Course Description

The "Occupational Health (Section 16)” course covers the Danish Maritime Authority Order on Safety Work and Occupational Health on Danish Flag Merchant ships, in order that the course participant, as a member of the safety group is able in co-operation with other crew members to promote, secure and maintain a good safe and healthy physical and mental working environment on board.



Course objectives:
  • Locate the Legislations from the DMA website
  • Recognise the impacts of the Working Environment exposures on board
  • Identify the Roles and Responsibilities of the Safety Organisation
  • Discuss the Safe practices in Handling Paints and Chemicals on board
  • Recognise the importance of complying with Workplace Instructions
  • Identifies the measures that need to be taken before one performs work on board ships
  • Discuss the process of risk management and Incident investigation.
