Course Description

This program is specially designed to train the ship staff in proper understanding of marine automation systems and instrumentation. This is an advanced course & the pre-requisites are as follows:
General familiarity with ships automation systems, basic understanding of electrical systems & sensors is warranted.  The attendance of the following courses prior attempting this course would be beneficial
i. Instrumentation & Automation Course
ii. Electrical Familiarization Course

The course has been developed as a "Value Addition" course, with practical approach to marine automation & process control.

While preparing this course the new STCW requirements are also considered.

  • Basic Control Theory
  • Control Theory
  • Installation and Commissioning of Controls
  • The Nakakita Controller
  • PLC
