This course familiarizes participants giving a hands-on-experience on its construction, operation, maintenance of Marflex deepwell pumps and various Variable frequency Drives (VFDs) used.

- Various types of deepwell pumps and its nomenclature.
- Construction and operation of pump deck arrangement, pipe stack and cargo pump head for deepwell pumps.
- Checks and precautions for starting and stopping, including stripping.
- Precautions for purging of cofferdams.
- Construction and working of ballast pump and aspirator system.
- Assembly and disassembly on MDPC-200 pump including oil draining and replishment.
- Introduction to variable frequency drive (VDF) and soft starter system used with Marflex pumps.
- Convertor System and power distribution matrix.
- Automatic operation of convertors using Power Management System.
- Controls for local, remote and HMI (Human Machine Interface).
- Hands-on-operation for controlling parameters of cargo and ballast pump.
- Change over controls between Local-Remote-HMI.
- Using HMI touch screen for checking, adjusting parameters, including alarms and resetting
procedure.
- Fault finding in convertor system.
- Use of portable pumps for emergency use.
