Introduction:- This course is to educate officers on developing safe
behaviors linked with risk management and use of SMS in day to day work.
Contents of the course
The Marine officers who successfully complete this
course should be able to:
- Develop safe behaviour towards their occupational working.
- To develop a safety culture of using the SMS and related
systems to bring about improved attitude towards safety as required by the ISM
Code.
- To prevent and minimize the possibility of accidents on
board ships by careful identification and assessment of risk involved in the
day to day shipboard activities and use of appropriate safeguards to bring
risks down to ALARP during operations.
- To improve efficiency of shipboard operations through
effective application of the SMS & COSWP.
