Course Description

SIRE 2.0 Familiarisation Training - A 1 Day Course 

This course provides an awareness on the SIRE 2.0 inspection programme, the new risk based inspection programme which integrates inspections related to hardware alongwith human factors and the move towards a more comprehensive digital reporting.

SIRE 2.0 Training
The 2.0 vessel inspection programme will focus on improving and strengthening the vessel inspections. 

The Inspection will have 5 stages :
  • Inspection request and validation
  • Pre-inspection preparation
  • Risk-based vessel inspection questionnaire - Types : Core, Rotational, Conditional, Campaign
  • Execution of the Inspection
  • Reporting

SIRE 2.0 Training Criteria

AEMTC Training Course

2.7.1

All personnel on board can access and understand the procedures and instructions relevant to them, set out in the ship’s SMS manuals.

3.2.8

Behavioural Competency Assessment Programme onboard for senior officers involved in competency assessment. Assessments were being conducted for navigation, cargo, mooring and engineering operations by approved assessors.

Shore based Bridge Team and Resource Management Training

Shore Based Cargo Handling Simulator Course

  • LCHS - LPG/ LNG/ Chemical/ Oil as per IMO Model Courses 1.35, 1.36, 1.37, 2.06

Shore Based Engine Room Management Simulator Course. The training course is   conducted in a simulator representing the main propulsion type of vessel being inspected/ Refresher Training

  • Engine Room Team and Resource Management (ERTM)

3.3.5

The High Voltage, DP/Power Management and DP control system training certificates for each member of onboard staff required to have such training.

Safety Inspections shall be carried out at regular intervals by the Safety Officer

Course Objective

To familiarise the ship’s officers and vessel managers on the SIRE 2.0 Vessel inspection programme and provide guidance to prepare the vessel for a successful conduct 
of the inspection.
